Robert Hall Merrill was a Trustee of the Cranbrook Institute of Science (1944-1953). He was also a Consultant to the Anthropology Department (1948-1949) and on the Research Committee (1949-1952). Born on January 18, 1881, in Grand Rapids, Michigan,he graduated from the University of Michigan in 1902 with a BA in Engineering.
