Collection Scope From the Collection: The collection consists chiefly of correspondence, photographs, early writings of Strengell and published works of her father, Gustaf Strengell, textile samples and her work in the Philippines. Together they document Strengell’s life as a weaver, teacher, photographer, artist, mother and wife. Collection Scope From the Collection:

The Walter Hickey Papers document his personal and professional life, primarily his years working and studying at the University of Michigan and Cranbrook Academy of Art. These years are captured in his correspondence, writings, artwork, architectural drawings, and collected Cranbrook publications. Architectural drawings are largely undated and range from small plans to large watercolor presentation drawings.

The bulk of the collection consists of Ms. Corbett’s research of Ellen Scripps Booth and Nellie Beveridge Gray. Of particular note are the transcripts of the oral histories performed by Ms. Corbett of Ms. Gray between 1984 and 1989. Ms. Gray provides insight into both Cranbrook and the Booth family in the last years of George and Ellen Booth’s lives.
