Collection Scope

SERIES I: Brookside school (1992-1998; n.d.) includes correspondence (memos, faxes and letters) from employees and contractors, and financial records (estimates, budget plans, invoices, packing slips, receipts, purchase requisitions, pay stubs, and quotes). Sketches of the various projects throughout their different stages of development are available in their original or copied formats. In addition, the schedule and notes related to each project are included. Catalogs from suppliers and vendors, polaroids and photographs are also located within this series. A computer disk is located in the Post Occupancy Improvement file labeled “Schedules.”

Note: A researcher may find the files of Peter Osler and Mary Kauper of interest to their studies because they may have correspondence or other documents that discuss a specific project.

Subseries 1:Log Jam Arch

Subseries 2: Pedestrian Bridge

Subseries 3: Pickle Place and Post Occupancy Improvements. Dan Hoffman and his colleagues constructed Pickle Place to invoke a child’s imagination and creative thinking. SERIES II: Cranbrook Educational Community (CEC)(1993-1998; n.d.) includes correspondence in the form of memos, faxes and letters from contractors such as Belden Brick Company and Hafele. Invoices, purchase requisitions, purchase orders, estimates, budget plans, and quotes are all portions of the financial records for this series. This series has schedules, work orders and notes on the various projects listed under the CEC series. Also included are manuals and catalogs from suppliers and vendors, sketches and photographs of the various projects. Researchers may find reference to the above projects in the correspondence in Doug Dover’s files.
