Abstract
Architect Eero Saarinen (1910-1961) attended Yale School of Architecture from 1930-1934 and became successful in architectural work, first with his father and brother-in-law, J. Robert F. Swanson, then with his own architectural office, Eero Saarinen & Associates. This is an artificial collection consisting of documents and publications related to projects designed primarily by Eero Saarinen, including those designed with Eliel Saarinen and J. Robert F. Swanson. Most of the material has some connection with the "Shaping the Future" exhibit.
Arrangement
The collection is arranged alphabetically.
Acquisition
This collection of project notes and oversize magazine articles is a result of materials primarily acquired during research relative to the exhibit Eero Saarinen: Shaping the Future. Materials were donated to the Archives and each donation has its own unique acquisition number noted on the folders. The material, which has come in randomly to the Archives, is often too small to be processed as a unique collection. Due to this, the Head Archivist made the decision to house all of these together in an artificial collection for ease of use.
Accruals
It is a “living” collection that may be added to if additional small “collections” are acquired.
Transfers
CDs and DVDs were removed to the Audio Recording Collection and the Film Collection.
