Doris Corbett was a history professor and well-known singer and ballad composer, teaching and performing throughout the United States and Canada. Helen McIlroy first came to Cranbrook as a temporary Brookside School employee. From 1931 until her retirement she worked permanently for the Cranbrook Foundation, as the assistant to George Booth and, later, as Henry Scripps Booth's secretary.
